Saltmarsh
Carl Amoth's Bar
Makes 2 cocktails
A coastal, stirred Scotch drink—unpeated Islay malt rounded with dry vermouth and Amaro Montenegro, a pinch of salt lifting the brine.
Ingredients
- 4 oz single malt Scotch (Bruichladdich)
- 1 oz dry vermouth (Noilly Prat)
- 1 oz Amaro Montenegro
- 4 dashes orange bitters
Method
- Stir the Scotch, vermouth, amaro, and bitters with ice until well-chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe.
- Express an orange peel over the top and add the barest pinch of sea salt to lift the malt.
Note. Built on unpeated Islay, so it reads briny and coastal rather than smoky.
