Sixteen generations up a Norwegian valley, traced through the bygdebøker— the old farm histories—from Numedal, Flesberg and Rollag to the American plains. The farms are in it too, because in Norway the farm name was the surname.
McGregor
A weaver's cottage near Musselburgh to a log cabin in Mississippi, by way of North Carolina. The Old Scot Preacher, and the graves that were moved twice.
Still being traced
Amoth is the line the site is named for, and the one with the least written down so far. Holloway and Lindsey are further behind still. They’ll be added as the research comes together.
