Bought deserted Lehøvd farm in 1580 for 3 daler—the original purchase letter survives on the farm to this day, over 440 years old.
Rebuilt Lehøvd after ~200 years of abandonment since the Black Death. Had 'several children, but we know the names of only two.' Grandson testified in 1676 that Hølje was born at Lande. Geni.com lists birth 1530, death 1610—Bygdebokbygdebok (plural bygdebøker) A Norwegian local history, usually a few volumes per district, going farm by farm through who lived there and when. Compiled from church registers, censuses, probate, tax and court records. The Kjemhus line comes from the ones for Flesberg and Rollag. All the words gives no specific dates. The dates are estimates: the records found so far show him alive in 1580, 1591 and 1610. A 2026 reading of Flesberg-boka finds the 1676 testimony could mean either Hølje or his son Tørjer was born at Lande.
